August 11, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Two new buses from the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) were sold in Russia in July, down from 28 the same month a year earlier, according to Russia\u2019s ASM-holding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the largest number of buses were sold by PAZ (Russia), 413; Yutong (China), 143; and Volgabus (Russia), 67.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From January to July, MAZ sold 134 buses in Russia, a 2.4-fold decrease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAZ sold 504 units in Russia in 2024 (a 45.5-percent decrease from 2023), taking the 9th place and a 2.6-percent market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year\u2019s sales leaders were PAZ with 8,114, LiAZ with 2,889 and Yutong with 2,215 buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April 2024, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka told officials that President Vladimir Putin expected Russian provinces to purchase about 40,000 buses, trolleybuses, trams and electric buses by 2030, and that government funding for this project had been allocated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe task of Belarusian industry is to get involved and provide at least 30 percent of the required volumes,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he noted that \u201cdomestic products are inferior to their counterparts in both price and quality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian buses have been reported to regularly catch fire in Russia and Belarus. This is likely due to the sanctions imposed on MAZ by Western democracies, which deprived the company of some high-quality components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest such case was reported by the media in Irkutsk on July 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
