August 21, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Latvia will tighten border crossing procedures for nationals of several countries, including Belarus, starting September 1, press.lv<\/em> reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travellers wishing to enter Latvia will be required to complete an online questionnaire no later than 48 hours before crossing the border and await its approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will need to indicate the purpose and duration of the trip, the route, the place of intended stay, their contact details, as well as information about service in the armed forces, special services, customs and law enforcement bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals transiting via Latvia will be required to provide only the available contact details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fine for failure to provide the data or submitting untrue information may amount to up to \u20ac2,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New regulations will apply to all third-country nationals without a Latvian visa or residence permit and who are not citizens of the European Union, NATO member states, Switzerland and Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
