August 21, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarusian investigators filed a special proceedings case against exiled Alena \u017dy\u0142a\u010dkina (\u017dyvah\u0142od), Zaryna Sarokina, Aleh Davyd\u010dyk and Cimafiej Ma\u0142acho\u016dski of the Honest People initiative, the Investigative Committee reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charges against them include association with an extremist group, inciting hatred, insulting and defaming Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, discrediting the state and calling for sanctions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian authorities branded the initiative as an extremist group three years ago. Earlier this year, the Committee for State Security (KGB) listed \u017dyvah\u0142od, Sarokina, Davyd\u010dyk and Ma\u0142acho\u016dski as members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative launched at the start of the campaign for the 2020 presidential election. The creators positioned it as \u201can open community of citizens of Belarus who are ready to take responsibility for the future of the country,\u201d aiming to build a full-fledged civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
