August 23, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>According to current data from the State Border Committee (SBC), 5,190 cars and 116 buses were waiting to leave Belarus for the European Union at 10 a.m. A day earlier, there were 5,340 cars and 100 buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of cars one year ago was 8.1 times lower than today\u2019s level: 640. There were also 82 buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland remains the busiest destination. At 10 a.m., there were 4,660 cars at the Brest checkpoint opposite Poland\u2019s Terespol, up from 4,630 yesterday. The largest number of cars, 4,770, concentrated there at 2 a.m. on August 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of buses at the checkpoint also increased from 100 yesterday to 116 today. The record was at noon on August 19: 157.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The queue started growing rapidly on August 15. There were 48 buses at the beginning of the day and 95 in the evening (the day\u2019s maximum was 110).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a sharp increase, the queues to the Baltic countries contracted slightly. A hundred cars queued at the Hryharo\u016d\u0161\u010dyna checkpoint opposite Latvia\u2019s Paternieki, as compared with 120 yesterday. The number of cars at Bieniakoni (\u0160al\u010dininkai) decreased from 340 to 280. At Kamienny \u0141oh (Medininkai), it fell from 250 to 150. There were no bus queues in this sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the SBC said ordinary tourists, including EU citizens, have become hostages to the delays supposedly caused by Polish services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
