{"id":152659,"date":"2025-08-26T20:08:50","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T17:08:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/152659\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"belarusian-farms-to-miss-out-on-millions-after-china-cracks-down-on-chicken-feet-re-export-scheme","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/152659\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarusian farms to miss out on millions after China cracks down on chicken feet re-export scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 26, <em>Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>Belarusian companies may miss out on $140 million in annual revenue after China banned imports of nearly all poultry products from the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The measure follows the exposure of a scheme to re-export foreign chicken feet\u2014considered a delicacy in China\u2014under the label of Belarusian poultry, according to the Belarusian Investigative Center (BIC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exports from Belarusian poultry farms grew sixfold in just three years, from 10,000 tons in 2020 to 60,000 tons in 2023, capturing 11 percent of the Chinese market. But Chinese buyers soon noticed discrepancies: Belarusian firms were selling 30\u201340 percent more chicken feet than they could realistically produce. This raised suspicions that companies were importing foreign products and passing them off as domestic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between August and December 2023, three of the five licensed suppliers lost their permits. By December 2024, Beijing had almost completely halted imports from 11 of the 13 Belarusian farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to BIC, Turkish chicken feet were funneled through Belarus by the UK-registered Monistar Business LP and China\u2019s Winshun Trade Limited. The Belarusian company JSC GBK-Silk Road acted as a front in a complex resale chain designed to generate profits while evading taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journalists discovered that in 2023, Winshun Trade Limited\u2019s owners included Siarhiej Hrabionkin, nephew of Siarhiej Ano\u0161ka, the former deputy director of the state-owned Bie\u0142arustorh. Bie\u0142arustorh was overseen by the Presidential Property Management Office, headed by Viktar \u0160ejman, a close ally of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, from 2013 to 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn 2021, together with his former deputy Andrej \u015aviryda\u016d, Ano\u0161ka founded ZAO Vector Capital Group. This company became the cornerstone of \u0160ejman\u2019s new shadow business empire. Ano\u0161ka\u2019s wife, Ta\u0107ciana Ano\u0161ka\u2014who is also Hrabionkin\u2019s aunt\u2014manages GBK-Silk Road in Belarus, which serves as an intermediary in re-exporting Turkish chicken feet to China. Among GBK-Silk Road\u2019s shareholders, we also found Siarhiej \u0160ejman, son of Viktar \u0160ejman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the British company Monistar Business granted power of attorney to D\u017amitryj \u017duko\u016dski, who in 2018 worked for another \u0160ejman-linked firm, OOO Globalcustom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 26, Pozirk.
