{"id":152755,"date":"2025-08-27T16:39:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T13:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/152755\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","slug":"over-50-confirmed-suspects-in-bielaruski-hajun-case","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/152755\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 50 confirmed suspects in Bie\u0142aruski Hajun case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 27, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> A man suspected of sharing information with Bie\u0142aruski Hajun, a project that monitored the activity of Russian troops in Belarus, was arrested in the Minsk region on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man was only allowed to take his medicine with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Viasna Human Rights Center is aware of at least 53 confirmed suspects who have been placed in custody over alleged communications with the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The center said in a report that the total number of detainees is \u201csignificantly higher.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to information received from former prisoners of the Akre\u015bcina Lane detention center in Minsk, the suspects are being arrested on extremism charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regional media project <em>Flagshtok <\/em>reports that \u201cmore than 250 people have been detained in this case since the beginning of 2025\u201d in the Homiel region. \u201cIn total, more than 1,000 people may be on the detention lists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Flagshtok <\/em>notes that the crackdown is led by the interior ministry\u2019s Main Directorate for Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption and OMON riot police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Bie\u0142aruski Hajun monitored military activity in Belarus.
