August 31, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian defense ministry has announced the start of joint exercises with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise focuses on ensuring public safety, countering external aggression and combating illegal armed groups, said Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka, chief of the Belarusian General Staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drill, based on recent combat experience, will feature the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, robotic systems, electronic warfare, practicing deploying and protecting communication equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muraviejka confirmed the participation of large contingents from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, adding that Belarus contributed the largest force, represented by the Viciebsk-based 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSTO Combat Brotherhood operational-strategic maneuvers include the Interaction 2025, Search 2025 and Echelon 2025 drills, aligned with Zapad-2025, a major Belarusian-Russian exercise scheduled for September 12-16. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier reports said that training from August 31 to September 6 will take place at the \u0141a\u015bvida and Lepiel ranges in the Viciebsk region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
