The real number of people held in custody for sharing information about Russian military equipment movements in Belarus may be much higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior ministry added 118 people to its extremist register last month, including 42 women, Viasna reported. The list contains the names of 5,677 people convicted on charges widely seen as politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the Minsk region\u2019s prosecutors forwarded to courts 450 requests to blacklist online content as extremist, with 433 requests granted, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said. This year, 226 of the 237 submitted applications have been approved. Prosecutors have authored more than 1,100 such requests since 2021. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maryja Novik, former deputy chief accountant of Belarus\u2019 embattled Tut.by Media, raised the requested \u20ac3,500 in just half a day as she struggles to settle in Poland after fleeing political persecution in Belarus in December 2024, BySol said.
