September 4, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ) has been ordered by a Russian court to pay 148.1 million rubles (more than $1.83 million) to Russia\u2019s Gornyak in debt and fines for sand and rubble supplies, Kommersant<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was not the first legal dispute between the two companies, the paper said. Last summer, the BMZ was ordered to pay 2.8 million Russian rubles ($34,600) in overdue debt to Gornyak, a company based in Lipetsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, BelPol, a Belarusian opposition intelligence group, claimed that the BMZ played a role in the mass production of ammunition for the Russian army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in \u017d\u0142obin, Homiel region, the state-run BMZ operates smelting, rolling, pipe-making and metalware shops. It is under EU, US and Ukrainian sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
