September 5, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja discussed regional security and support for Belarusian civil society with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger yesterday in Vienna, her aide Franak Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja called on Austria to support the International Humanitarian Fund for Belarusian reprisal victims and suggested setting up a Belarusian pro-democracy forces’ office in Vienna to deepen ties and enhance international coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such offices are already operating in Prague, Tallinn and Brussels, she noted. The politician also lobbied for the appointment of a special envoy for Belarus and cooperation within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austria continues to strongly advocate for the release of all jailed Belarusian regime critics, Meinl-Reisinger said on X following the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
