September 6, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Cyberpartisans hacktivist group announced hacking the Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ) website yesterday on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website is still inaccessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Cyberpartisans\u2019 announcement, the group posted pictures from protests to the website after gaining access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, the Belarusian hackers participated in a cyberattack on the IT infrastructure of the Russian airline Aeroflot, which resulted in the cancellation of dozens of flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, the media reported that BMZ was operating at 90 percent of last year\u2019s capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning of the year, the BelPol investigative group identified BMZ as part of the Belarusian production chain that makes projectiles for the Russian army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BMZ has operated in \u017d\u0142obin, Homiel region, since 1984. It has four production lines: steelmaking, rolling, pipes and hardware. The plant manages the state-controlled Belarusian Metallurgical Company. The EU, the US, Ukraine and other countries have imposed sanctions on the BMZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
