September 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The number of passenger cars lined up to leave Belarus for the European Union has decreased over the past week from 3,775 to 2,020, according to the State Border Committee (SBC) data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This noon, there were 2,010 cars at the Brest checkpoint on the Belarusian-Polish border and 10 at the Kamienny \u0141oh checkpoint on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. There were no queues at Beniakoni (Belarusian-Lithuanian border) and Hryharo\u016d\u0161\u010dyna (Belarusian-Latvian border).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Sunday, 3,535 cars were recorded at the Brest checkpoint, 130 at Kamienny \u0141oh, 110 at Beniakoni and none at Hryharo\u016d\u0161\u010dyna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, as well as a week ago, buses queued only at the Belarusian-Polish border. In this timeframe, the queue has shortened by 5.5 times, from 60 to 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brest checkpoint on the Polish border remains the busiest route for passenger transport. The number of cars here peaked at 4,770 on August 20, and the number of buses peaked at 157 on August 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the SBC said ordinary tourists, including EU citizens, have become hostages to the delays supposedly caused by Polish services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish border guards explained the slow border traffic by the demand for thorough checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brest is the only automobile checkpoint accessible to travelers on the Belarusian-Polish border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
