September 10,<\/strong> Pozirk.<\/strong><\/em> Moldova\u2019s foreign ministry has announced the expulsion of a Belarusian diplomat, who must leave the country within the timeframe set by diplomatic procedure, Moldpres <\/em>reported, citing ministry spokeswoman Tatiana Barac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move comes after Czechia and Poland expelled Belarusian diplomats amid an alleged crackdown on a Belarusian spy network, carried out in cooperation with the secret services of Hungary and Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moldovan ministry did not provide any reasons behind its decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this week, the Czech Security Information Service reported that Romanian authorities had detained a former deputy director of Moldova\u2019s Intelligence and Security Service on suspicion of spying for Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Czechia reportedly expelled administrative advisor Mika\u0142aj Duk\u0161ta, a position in Belarusian embassies that is typically held by an officer of the Committee for State Security (KGB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019s foreign ministry condemned the expulsions by Prague and Warsaw, vowing to retaliate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U\u0142adzimir Zubko\u016d has served as administrative advisor at the Belarusian embassy in Moldova until recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
