September 11, Pozirk.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has lashed out at Warsaw, accusing it of overreacting to yesterday\u2019s drone incursions and criticized its decision to close the border with Belarus in connection with the Belarusian-Russian military maneuvers Zapad-2025<\/em>, scheduled to begin on September 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He told Belarus\u2019 permanent representative to the UN, Valancin Rybako\u016d, that Belarus had alerted Poland to approaching drones immediately, \u201cas soon as possible last night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese drones were not flying toward us,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said, according to a video posted by his press office on the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel. \u201cWe saw where these drones [were] heading. We shot down these drones, what we could destroy. But a few kept flying\u2026 What did we get as a result? They are stirring up the situation over nothing, like savages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey probably want us to react properly to this. Well, I have warned a thousand times that we do not want any wars or conflicts. We do not want closed borders. But if they present us with a fait accompli, we will have to respond,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last night, Poland reported a massive drone incursion, the first in three and a half years of Russia\u2019s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. One residential building was reported damaged. According to Ukrainian monitoring channels, some of the drones overflew Belarus\u2019 Brest region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw called it an act of aggression. Polish and NATO forces were scrambled to down the UAVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian General Staff chief, Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka, said yesterday that Belarusian air\/air defense forces had exchanged with Poland and Lithuania on the \u201cair and radar situation.\u201d \u201cIn doing so, they alerted them to the approach of unknown aircraft to their countries\u2019 territory,\u201d the major general stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw later confirmed information exchanges with Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
