September 11, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The US Treasury Department\u2019s Office of Foreign Assets Control has issued a general license to facilitate certain transactions with the Bie\u0142avija open joint stock company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, all transactions involving Bie\u0142avija or any entity in which the airline directly or indirectly owns 50 percent or more of the shares are now permitted, with the exception of those specified in paragraph b) of the general license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The paragraph states that the license does not authorize \u201cthe unblocking of any property blocked pursuant to any part of 31 CFR chapter V\u201d or \u201cany transactions otherwise prohibited by the BSR [Belarus Sanctions Regulations], including transactions involving the property or interests in property of any person blocked pursuant to the BSR,\u201d except the Bie\u0142avija airline, \u201cunless separately authorized.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
