September 16, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Former political prisoner D\u017amitry Siem\u010danka has left Belarus with his family, according to his Facebook post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former state television journalist who supported protesters said Belarus had deprived him of his basic rights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m starting from scratch in Warsaw . . . even though it is wrong to say \u2018from scratch.\u2019 There is my experience, my intelligence, my two hands and, most importantly, there are Belarusians. I am sincerely proud of them, and I never stopped believing in them, even in the cold nights at the detention center. I am sure that this faith will warm me here too,\u201d Siem\u010danka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siem\u010danka has been included in the list of \u201cterrorists\u201d and does not have the right to manage bank accounts, obtain payment cards or register mobile phone numbers in Belarus. In addition, authorities have accused him of ties to extremists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
