September 21, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Li Xi, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, will hold meetings with officials in Belarus, the STV <\/em>channel has reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit will serve to \u201cstrengthen ties between the two countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Li, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, will meet with his counterparts from the State Control Committee and Chinese businesses people in Belarus. He also plans to visit the Great Stone Industrial Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his arrival in Minsk on Saturday evening, the Chinese politician reportedly held brief talks with D\u017amitry Krutoj, head of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s administration, at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua<\/em>, Li will stay in Belarus until September 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit comes after Warsaw\u2019s closure of the Polish-Belarusian border, which China uses to transit its goods to the European Union. Polish authorities said the closure is indefinite and motivated by concern for citizens\u2019 safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski said on Thursday that the border closure was discussed at talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on September 15. During his visit to Poland, Wang Yi also met with President Karol Nawrocki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
