September 22, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The Belarusian foreign ministry\u2019s unofficial Telegram channel has denounced Poland\u2019s closure of its border with Belarus \u201cpolitical racketeering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement comes during the Minsk visit by Li Xi, a high-ranking member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, who discussed the border closure with Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka today. Last week, the Chinese foreign minister met with his Polish counterpart in an apparent attempt to persuade Warsaw to open the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Polish authorities are deliberately harming thousands of European and Chinese companies by causing disruptions in supply chains to justify embezzling billions intended for new weapons, claimed the foreign ministry\u2019s Telegram channel Glas MIDa<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnder the guise of \u2018temporary\u2019 security measures, Poland is directly violating the flagship project of cooperation between the EU and China\u2014the railway corridor passing 90 percent of cargo worth \u20ac25 billion. Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski openly blackmails Beijing, saying that the border will open only after China\u2019s \u2018help\u2019 in \u2018suppressing Belarusian provocations.\u2019 The blow to Chinese interests is obvious,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It accused Warsaw of acting on the orders of overseas curators, \u201cfor whom the weakening of EU-China ties is a strategic goal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, at his meeting with Li, \u0141uka\u0161enka slammed Poland\u2019s closure of its border with Belarus as an unfriendly move towards China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPoland is acting like a show horse for the benefit of other countries,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw closed the border with Belarus, including railway crossings, on September 12 in connection with the Belarusian-Russian exercise Zapad-2025 from September 12 to 16. The border will remain closed until further notice due to concerns over the safety of Polish citizens, the Polish interior ministry noted after the drill was over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw does not benefit from the border closure but prioritizes security over trade benefits, Polish foreign ministry spokesman Pawe\u0142 Wro\u0144ski said following Polish-Chinese talks three days after the closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d criticized Poland\u2019s decision, claiming it targeted China, which accounts for nearly three-quarters of the cargo transit across the Belarusian-Polish border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The already strained relations between Minsk and Warsaw have deteriorated this month after the arrest of Polish national Grzegorz Gawe\u0142 in Lepel, Viciebsk region, the expulsion of a Belarusian diplomat from Poland and a spike in tension between Poland and Russia following an unprecedented incursion of military drones into Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
