September 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has urged Minsk and Addis Ababa to draft a cooperation plan by the year\u2019s end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on the sidelines of Moscow\u2019s World Atomic Week, \u0141uka\u0161enka said it was necessary to set specific targets for trade and Belarusian equipment deliveries, not just outline the general areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need to deepen our trade and bring it to a serious volume . . . starting with agriculture, food and joint ventures in Ethiopia. Also, military-technical cooperation. We are ready to do everything we can with you in these areas,\u201d the Belarusian ruler said, according to his press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He invited the Ethiopian premier to Belarus to explore potential areas of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s conversation partner reportedly expressed his enthusiasm for boosting cooperation in trade and economy. In particular, he noted that Belarus was good at making tractors. Their joint production \u201ccan be designed not only for Ethiopia, but also for the entire East of Africa,\u201d Abiy Ahmed said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He mentioned construction as an important area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are also well aware of your capabilities in military-technical cooperation and of the support that you can provide for our country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
