{"id":157442,"date":"2025-09-27T19:53:41","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T16:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/157442\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","slug":"extremism-and-terrorism-designations-remain-key-tool-of-reprisals-in-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/157442\/","title":{"rendered":"Extremism and terrorism designations remain key tool of reprisals in Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>September 27, <em>Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Authorities in Minsk keep using extremism and terrorism designations as a key tool of reprisals, with 11 more names on the official extremist register, among them Alaksiej Lavon\u010dyk, founder of the By_Help solidarity initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior ministry also added 33 new names to its list of \u201cpeople involved in extremist activities,\u201d taking the total of entries to 5,817,<em> Pozirk<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities restricted access for Belarus-based users to\u00a0<em>bulb-ash.info<\/em>,\u00a0collecting data on Belarusian officials, following a request from the Mahilo\u016d region\u2019s prosecutor, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maryna Adamovi\u010d, wife of jailed opposition politician Mika\u0142aj Statkievi\u010d, who refused to leave Belarus after being pardoned on September 11, still has no information about his whereabouts, <em>Pozirk<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nine more people were declared political prisoners yesterday, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of September 27, human rights defenders identified at least 1,201 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
