October 3, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>New cases of politically-motivated persecution were documented in Belarus on October 1 and 2 as the Viasna Human Rigths Center reported high treason and terrorism-related charges against former law enforcer Hienrych Ahieje\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man was arrested in February 2024 in the Russia-occupied Crimea, tortured by the Russian security forces and later extradited to Belarus. No further details of his case were disclosed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
