October 4, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s press office has announced that she will visit Paris on October 6\u20137 at the invitation of the French National Assembly president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja will take part in the third meeting of the parliamentary alliance For a Democratic Belarus, hosted by the French lower house. The meeting will include a session on the fifth anniversary of Belarus\u2019 peaceful protests and a debate on the EU measures to resist Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s regime and free its prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian politician will meet with members of the parliamentary committees on foreign and European affairs, National Assembly President Ya\u00ebl Braun-Pivet and Foreign Minister Jean-No\u00ebl Barrot. Besides, she will hold a briefing for EU ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the announcement, the visit \u201cunderlines the continued solidarity of France and its European partners with the Belarusian pro-democracy movement and their commitment to support Belarusians\u2019 fight for freedom, dignity and human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 2, Cichano\u016dskaja thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for his consistent support of a democratic Belarus and solidarity with the Belarusian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe really appreciate that France continues to stand by our side in the fight for freedom and human rights,\u201d the Belarusian opposition leader told him on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
