October 7, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Polish-Belarusian journalist Andrej Pa\u010dobut (Andrzej Poczobut) is being held at the penal colony\u2019s internal prison (PKT), the Belarusian Association of Journalists reported<\/a>, citing an anonymous source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 23, wardens put Pa\u010dobut in the PKT for six months. It is unclear if he is in a solitary confinement cell, but in September correspondence with him was interrupted for a long period of time. This may suggest that he was in a punishment cell at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parcels with food and clothing are not getting through, and the PKT\u2019s food ration is meagre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter her last meeting with Pa\u010dobut at the Navapolack colony on September 23, And\u017celika Borys, chairwoman of the Union of Poles in Belarus, noted that he has lost a lot of weight and weighs 73 kilograms, which is \u2018critically low.\u2019 Ms. Borys reported overall deterioration of the journalist political prisoner’s health\u2014high blood pressure and episodes of arrhythmia. The source clarified that Pa\u010dobut faced boil removal. It is unclear if the surgery was done at the penal colony or at a hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
