October 8, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Last month, rail deliveries of Belarusian gasoline to Russia increased fourfold compared with August, Reuters<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increase is attributable to fuel shortages resulting from Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeveral Russian regions have introduced rationing and have temporarily frozen fuel prices in recent weeks amid a scarcity of popular types of gasoline brought on by the drone strikes, which targeted refineries among other energy installations. Moscow has also restricted gasoline and diesel exports,\u201d the news agency reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Belarusian rail-transported gasoline exports to Russia rose to 49,000 tons, and the exports of diesel fuel amounted to 33,000 t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concurrently, gasoline transit from Belarus for further export via Russian ports climbed by about 1 percent to 140,000 t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transshipment of petroleum products fell by almost 40 percent year-on-year to 1.17 million t in January\u2013September \u201cdue to a decline in refining throughput\u201d at Belarusian enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak asked Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to increase gasoline imports from Belarus in October to 300,000 t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volume of Belarusian fuel supplies to Russia in September is estimated at 45,000 t. Novak proposed increasing fuel imports through the Transneft pipeline system and by refining oil in Belarus on a give-and-take basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
