October 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Inflation in Belarus has been slowing down for two consecutive months, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) said in its recent analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inflation slowed down from 7.2 percent in August to 7.1 percent in September, with food price growth decelerating from 9.9 percent to 9.8 percent and non-food inflation easing from 3.2 percent to 2.9 percent in this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Services prices climbed by 7.9 in September after a 7.7-percent growth in August, most likely driven primarily by increases in regulated tariffs for housing and communal services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, core inflation fell by 0.2 percentage points to 7.5 percent in September, signaling a decline in inflationary pressure, the EDB noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer prices in Belarus rose by 0.5 percent last month and 7.1 percent in the 12 months to September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian government had initially planned to cut inflation to 5 percent, but the annual rate may be higher, central bank\u2019s head Raman Ha\u0142o\u016dcanka said a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
