October 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Cards issued by Alfa Bank in Belarus, included in the European Union’s 19th sanctions package today, continue to operate without any restrictions, its press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clients, including individuals and legal entities, have access to all financial transactions at bank branches and online, it said, noting that the bank\u2019s legal team is currently analyzing the new sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alfa Bank\u2019s customer support said that \u201cthere may be isolated issues with card payments outside Belarus, but no widespread disruptions are reported at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alfa Bank has operated in Belarus since 1999 (until November 2008, as the International Trade and Investment Bank). It is part of Russia\u2019s Alfa Group Consortium. \u0410BH Holdings S.A. owns a 99.9-percent stake in Alfa Bank Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the United Kingdom sanctioned Alfa Bank Belarus, while the EU, the US and Ukraine introduced restrictions against its parent company in Russia in 2022, following the launch of Russia\u2019s full-scale war on Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
