October 26, Pozirk<\/em><\/strong>. Choe Son-hui, North Korea’s foreign minister, will visit Belarus and Russia at the invitation of the respective foreign ministries, the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No further details of the upcoming visit have been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early September, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka met Kim Jong Un in Beijing where both attended a military parade. The Belarusian ruler reportedly received an invitation to North Korea during that meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian side has been seeking high-level contacts with North Korea for the past two years, but Pyongyang proceeded slowly, noting that Minsk must \u201cclarify its intention correctly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d visited North Korea in July 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five months ago, a Belarusian government delegation participated in the third meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in North Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Kim Jong Un congratulated \u0141uka\u0161enka on extending his 30-year-long rule in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
