Kara\u010d holds a Lithuanian residence permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 18, she announced that Lithuania refused to grant her political asylum. A few days later, reports linked the refusal to her alleged ties with Russian intelligence services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kara\u010d leads the exiled opposition center Na\u0161 Dom (Our Home). She was a member of the Viciebsk council of deputies and ran for parliament in 2000s. The Belarusian secret service accused her of terrorism in 2021.
