October 29, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginen\u0117 has already briefly discussed Belarus border closure with her Polish counterpart Donald Tusk, Delfi<\/em> reported. She told reporters that she intends to hold further talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the Lithuanian government ruled to keep the border closed until November 30 following an influx of cigarette-smuggling balloons from Belarus. The closure may be extended, Vilnius warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move coincided with Warsaw\u2019s announcement of plans to reopen two border crossings at the shared border with Belarus. However, Tusk made re-opening conditional on coordinated action with Vilnius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruginen\u0117 also said she is planning to meet Latvia\u2019s Prime Minister Evika Sili\u0146a tomorrow in Riga to discuss the border closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are working together with Latvia, Estonia and Poland backing our decisions,\u201d the politician stressed. \u201cSupport has also been evident at the highest levels of the European Union, confirming our European orientation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
