November 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed his full support for the Belarusian pro-democracy forces and the people of Belarus at a meeting with \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja in Canberra, her chief adviser Franak Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Via\u010dorka, the two leaders discussed Belarus, Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine, supporting the oppressed and sanctions policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja urged Albanese to \u201cdistinguish between the regime and Belarusians, between Belarus and Russia.\u201d The politician also thanked the premier and the Australian government \u201cfor their principled position in supporting Ukraine and for their attention to the situation in Belarus.\u201d Besides, she spoke about the problems facing the Belarusian diaspora in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conversation partners discussed establishing contacts between the Belarusian pro-democracy forces and countries of the Pacific region, including Singapore, Japan and South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thanked the prime minister and the Australian people for their support of Ukraine and Belarus. It was a frank and warm conversation. The prime minister is interested in the situations in Belarus and Ukraine and is very concerned about the fate of political prisoners. I am confident that this meeting will elevate our cooperation with Australia and enable us to work more effectively toward a free, independent and democratic Belarus,\u201d Cichano\u016dskaja stated after the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via\u010dorka noted that Australia actively participates in international organizations and often speaks out regarding Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on X, Albanese said he was honored to meet with Cichano\u016dskaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
