November 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has signed an edict to make it easier for farms to sell uninhabited homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler’s press office said the document aims to intensify work on bringing empty homes, including those built with state support, back into the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farms will be allowed to sell homes with a 50 percent discount at a repeat auction and with an 80 percent discount afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If no one buys a home, it could be sold at a base rate, currently amounting to 42 rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, local governments will have a say on price cuts during auctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 5,200 empty houses have been put back to use since the start of 2025, the State Committee on Property reported on October 17. That was a year-on-year increase of 33 percent. Over 1,100 houses have been sold, 415 of them at the base rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Da\u017eynki festival in November 2024, \u0141uka\u0161enka asserted that many people want to have a home in the countryside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
