November 11, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarus has designated the Sustre\u010da volunteer center as an \u201cextremist formation\u201d based on the Belarusian interior ministry\u2019s decision dated November 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the ministry\u2019s website, Belarusian citizens Alena \u017darkievi\u010d and Iryna \u0141uka\u0161enka were involved with the group. Some of the organization\u2019s social media accounts and its logo were also declared extremist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2023, \u017darkievi\u010d told Pozirk <\/em>that a Sustre\u010da-organized humanitarian convoy delivered five cars, including an ambulance, from Europe to Ukraine. The center planned to transfer the vehicles to Belarusian and Ukrainian units in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humanitarian aid and cars were purchased with money from Belarusian soldiers fighting for the AFU, Ukrainian foundations and members of the Belarusian diaspora, she said. The ambulance and another car were completely funded by Belarusians, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to \u017darkievi\u010d, by that time Sustre\u010da had operated humanitarian convoys for a year and a half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus’ list of designated extremist groups contains 317 entries, including most media organizations independent of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
