November 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi accepted the invitation to visit Belarus, says Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s congratulatory message on the politician’s birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI look forward to meeting him soon and am confident that it will give new impetus to bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects that are in the interests of both countries,\u201d the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelarus respects the efforts of Egypt\u2019s authorities to improve the welfare of their people and to strengthen Egypt\u2019s role as a key power in the Arab world and on the African continent,\u201d the message reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian-Egyptian relations are advancing based on mutual trust and friendship, with bilateral cooperation expanding across multiple sectors, including industry, agriculture, education, science and technology, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past year, \u0141uka\u0161enka has repeated his invitation for the Egyptian president to visit Belarus on at least three separate occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, bilateral trade amounted to $62.68 million, with Belarusian exports at $41.77 million and imports at $20.91 million, according to the Belarusian foreign ministry. Minsk has not disclosed more recent data.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago, Egypt’s exports to Belarus stood at $21.5 million and imports from Belarus, at $79.6 million, according to the UN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
