November 19, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Polish prosecutors will seek arrest warrants for two Ukrainian citizens suspected of carrying out acts of sabotage earlier this week, Prosecutor\u2019s Office spokesperson Przemys\u0142aw Nowak announced on November 19. According to investigators, the suspects fled to Belarus through the Terespol checkpoint shortly after the incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities plan to publish images of the two men soon. If convicted, they could face life imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are cooperating with the Ukrainian side and have extensive information about the suspects. I can only say that they had no prior criminal records in Poland,\u201d Nowak said. He added that the suspects had filmed both incidents, and the footage was recovered at the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on November 18 that both men had been working for Russian intelligence for an extended period. Polish media had earlier reported two acts of railway sabotage on November 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusk visited the site of an explosion near Mika, southeast of Warsaw, which damaged a railway line leading toward the Ukrainian border. A second incident occurred farther down the same line near Pu\u0142awy, where a packed train was forced to stop abruptly after damage to overhead power cables was discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kremlin has denied any involvement in the incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
