November 21, Pozirk. <\/strong>The Belarusian interior ministry has drafted a bill that would introduce administrative liability for individuals on a preventive-registration list who fail to find employment or undergo mandated alcoholism treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill also provides for keeping track of people who stayed at specialized labor therapy centers known as LTP, said Alaksandar Kup\u010denia of the interior ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another proposed measure suggests optimizing preventive registration for offenders accused of domestic violence, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All individuals registered by the interior ministry must work, Minister Ivan Kubrako\u016d stressed, noting that most crimes are committed for economic reasons by those who do not study or work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, Alasandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said that unemployed may lose access to free healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unemployed able-bodied Belarusians have been subject to a \u201csocial parasite\u201d tax in Belarus since 2017. People who are absent from Belarus for long are also included in the register of persons not employed in the economy, also known as the \u201csocial parasite\u201d database. They are required to pay higher utility bills to cover the full cost of services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
