November 21, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has criticized Belarusian researchers for failing to deliver tangible results and properly train younger scientists during today\u2019s meeting on the activities of the National Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStand up and tell me: who has not been paid for their great discoveries? If there are such cases, we will immediately review the applications and make the appropriate decision,\u201d his press office quoted him as saying, in a comment on remuneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe can increase funding, construct new buildings and laboratories and equip them with the most advanced equipment. But we must remember: who will work there?\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka said, adding that junior researchers make up only about 30 percent of the workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka regularly denounces the Academy of Sciences for ineffectiveness, accusing it of mismanagement and urging researchers to make greater contributions to the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
