November 21, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> This year, 28 percent of Belarusian city dwellers saw a threat of Belarus joining Russia in the war in Ukraine as relevant, with the figure having halved since April 2022, sociologist Hienad\u017a Kor\u0161una\u016d said during the presentation of a new survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 512 urban residents were interviewed in the online poll from May 26 to 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The threat ranked fourth among the most important issues for respondents, with men and people over 45 demonstrating more concern in this respect, said Kor\u0161una\u016d, senior researcher at the Center for New Ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians\u2019 main worries are economic, with low wages, rising prices and small pensions among the top three, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respondents also defined the following priorities for the authorities: ensuring citizens\u2019 rights and freedoms, providing opportunities to earn a living and maintaining neutrality and non-participation in the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
