November 26, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian authorities extended the pre-trial detention of journalist Pavie\u0142 Dabravolski, accused of high treason in connection with his professional activities, until December 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dabravolski was arrested on January 22, ten days after his 35th birthday. He may face up to 15 years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late August, the human rights community declared him a political prisoner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journalist had worked for the BelaPAN<\/em> media company before the KGB branded it an \u201cextremist group\u201d in November 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2020, he was arrested in Minsk and jailed for 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Dabravolski\u2019s social media, after leaving Belarus at the end of 2021, he traveled around the world. In October 2024, he returned to Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 28 media workers are held behind bars in Belarus, according to the Belarusian Association of Journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
