December<\/strong> 2,<\/strong> <\/strong>Pozirk<\/strong><\/em>.<\/strong><\/em> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka expressed hope for an increase in trade with Algeria after his meeting on December 2 with Ibrahim Boughali, president of the country\u2019s People\u2019s National Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have held a forum of business executives from Belarus and Algeria here and established direct ties among companies,\u201d the Belarusian leader was quoted as saying by his press office. \u201cWe are compliant people and will strictly follow our agreements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-way trade totaled just over $49 million in 2024, according to the press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler also met with Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 3, he is scheduled to meet with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune face to face and as part of the countries\u2019 delegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The business forum was held before his arrival in the country today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus and Algeria established diplomatic relations in 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, trade between the two countries amounted to $1.01 million, dominated by Belarusian exports of potash fertilizers, stationery and textiles, according to the Belarusian embassy to Egypt responsible for relations with Algeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
