December 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The official Belarusian delegation rejected yesterday\u2019s statement by the member states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) that urged Minsk to end politically-motivated reprisals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreign ministry\u2019s press office described the document as a \u201cset of politicized clich\u00e9s and double standards that distort the real situation in Belarus.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians \u201cdo not need help from foreign do-gooders in preparing for the democratic future of their country,\u201d it added, noting that any attempts to impose \u201copportunistic political scenarios on Belarus from outside\u201d violate the principle of non-interference and \u201care doomed to fail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus is open to dialogue, but only on \u201crespectful and equal\u201d terms, the ministry said, accusing the OSCE of \u201cblackmail, pressure and manipulation under the guise of human rights concerns.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 30 democratic countries signed the joint statement<\/a> during the OSCE ministerial meeting yesterday, calling on Belarus to fully implement its international obligations and OSCE commitments in the field of human rights and democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelarus must also stop its support for Russia\u2019s illegal, unprovoked and unjustifiable war of aggression against Ukraine,\u201d it stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
