We will make sure \u0141uka\u0161enka pays the full price for allowing balloons to be sent in our direction,\u201d he said, amid tensions over incursions of cigarette-smuggling balloons from Belarus into Lithuania. Belarus may be larger than Lithuania, but it is very unstable economically, the MP added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe must join forces with Americans and convince them that any deals with the Belarusian regime are pure folly. America is engaging in human trafficking, trading in real human beings,\u201d he said, likely referring to the releases of Belarusian dissidents in exchange for Washington lifting some sanctions on Minsk. &#8220;They [Americans] are now allowing the transport of fertilizers, thereby filling the pockets of the regime. Why should we be involved in this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washington announced that it will be lifting sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizers following the meeting between Aleksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and John Coale, US special envoy to Belarus, on December 13.
