December 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian officials expect the economy to grow by 15.8 percent in five years, Prime Minister Alaksandar Tur\u010dyn said while presenting the program of social and economic development for 2026\u20132030 at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Against the backdrop of geopolitical instability and a slowdown in the global economy, our economy is expected to grow by at least 3 percent per year,” the official said. “This is quite a challenging task. For comparison, GDP growth for the current five-year period is estimated at 7 percent.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 economy grew by 1.3 percent year on year in the first 11 months of 2025, after a 1.5-percent increase posted in January-October, the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) reported earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the slowdown, the government maintains a GDP growth target of 4.1 percent for 2025, with the economy slated to grow by 2.8 percent in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
