{"id":1693,"date":"2023-08-09T19:45:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T16:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1693"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","slug":"us-slaps-more-sanctions-on-belarus-regime","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/1693\/","title":{"rendered":"US slaps more sanctions on Belarus regime"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 9,&nbsp;<em>BPN.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;The United States has expanded sanctions against the Belarusian regime &#8220;on the three-year anniversary of the Belarusian authorities&#8217; falsification of the August 2020 presidential election,&#8221;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/news\/press-releases\/jy1682\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">according<\/a>&nbsp;to the US Department of the Treasury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The US government targeted entities &#8220;involved in the Belarusian regime&#8217;s continued civil society repression, complicity in the Russian Federation&#8217;s unjustified war in Ukraine, and enrichment of repressive Belarusian regime leader Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctioned companies&nbsp;include the state-owned airline Bielavija, the State Control Committee&#8217;s financial investigations department (DFR), Belarusian Steel Works (Bie\u0142aruski Mieta\u0142urhi\u010dny Zavod), its US affiliate Bel-Kap-Steel, and Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407 (Minski Zavod Hramadzianskaj Avijacyi No. 407).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctioned individuals include businessman Alaksiej Aleksin&#8217;s sons and wife, D\u017amitry, Vital and Ina, as well as DFR head Ihar Mar\u0161a\u0142a\u016d, his deputies Viktar Sielicki and Viktar Franskievi\u010d, and senior investigator Arciom Du\u0144ka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The US government also blacklisted D\u017amitryj Kor\u010dyk, Belarusian Steel Works CEO, and the Bielavija-operated jet EW-301PJ &#8220;used by high-ranking officials and family members of the US-sanctioned regime leader, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In line with our partners and Allies, we will continue to ensure that the regime pays a price for its abysmal treatment of its own citizens and that our measures in response to Russia&#8217;s aggression cannot be circumvented through Belarus,&#8221; said Brian Nelson, under secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day earlier, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on six Belarusian companies that it said were of strategic importance to the country and supported Russia&#8217;s war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 9,&nbsp;BPN.&nbsp;The United States has expanded sanctions against the Belarusian regime &#8220;on the three-year anniversary of the Belarusian authorities&#8217; falsification of the August 2020 presidential election,&#8221;&nbsp;according&nbsp;to the US Department of the Treasury.
