December 23, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>As part of an electronic upgrade of its border with Belarus, Poland has installed three drone systems, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwi\u0144ski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was speaking during Prime Minister Donald Tusk\u2019s visit to the Borbowniki area of Podlaskie Voivodeship, the prime minister\u2019s office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusk announced that Warsaw will allocate 2.5 billion z\u0142otys (more than \u20ac590 million) for beefing up eastern border security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that more than 6,000 troops, border guards and police officers were guarding the shared border with Belarus, noting that the border is 98-percent hermetically sealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kierwi\u0144ski said that the first anti-drone cluster will be launched in January. \u201cThe system of towers and drones ensures effective observation day and night within the radius of about 10 kilometers both on the Belarusian and Polish sides of the River Svis\u0142a\u010d,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union neighbors reported 357 attempts by third-country nationals to cross the border from Belarus outside the legal checkpoints this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
