December 28, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>The number of employed pensioners increased by 27,000 and exceeds 480,000 after the removal of restrictions on retirement-age workers\u2019 pensions, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalla Pa\u016dlu\u010denka has told STV<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most working pensioners, 65 percent, are women, and more than 55 percent work in the service sector, primarily healthcare, education and engineering, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government plans to allocate 31 billion rubels for pension payments in 2026, with pensions set to rise by more than 14 percent by year\u2019s end to over 1,000 rubels (about $343), the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities have previously acknowledged an outflow of skilled workers, including specialists in blue-collar professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shortages of skilled workers in Belarus are partly attributable to migration triggered by politically-motivated reprisals that continue unabated since the 2020 political crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
