December 31, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The European Union has invested more than \u20ac2 million in various educational programs for Belarusians in the outgoing year, said Marharyta Vorychava of the opposition transition cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 300 Belarusians received academic scholarships in the EU countries this year, with support also extended to 150 Belarusian master\u2019s students, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU funded more than 10 seminars and training sessions for the Belarusian youth, with some 1,000 Belarusians joining EU exchange and volunteer programs, Vorychava added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician also highlighted obstacles preventing Belarusian school graduates from enrolling in EU universities, as programs remain technically closed to them, while ongoing reprisals in the Belarusian education system continue to push people toward forced migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that nearly half of exiled Belarusians are unable to continue their careers abroad, calling for expanded EU labor market integration and a review of procedures for recognizing professional qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
