Lithuania also extended the presence of US units on its territory until 2025, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Some foreign politicians keep thinking in terms of the Cold War and are trying to stir up the situation in every possible way by their provocative statements and reckless actions,&#8221; Valfovi\u010d said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus&#8217; western neighbors hurry to implement recent NATO summit decisions &#8220;to please their overseas curators,&#8221; he claimed, describing statements about &#8220;imaginary threats&#8221; from Russia and Belarus as &#8220;far-fetched pretexts&#8221; for militarizing Poland and the Baltic States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus anticipated these moves from NATO and was forced to take appropriate measures in response by studying recent Russian combat experience in Ukraine and engaging Wagner Group instructors, he said. The government did not hide anything, including the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons, he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valfovi\u010d&#8217;s comments followed Warsaw&#8217;s announcement of a plan to deploy 10,000 troops to secure Poland&#8217;s eastern border. The move should scare potential aggressors discouraging any kind of attacks or provocations against Poland, Defense Minister Mariusz B\u0142aszczak has told&nbsp;<em>Polskie Radio<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Poland and Lithuania may seal off their borders with Belarus amid growing risks of military escalation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August
