January 12,<\/strong> Pozirk.<\/strong><\/em> UN experts expect Belarus\u2019 economy to grow by 2.1 percent in 2026 and 2027, in the new report titled the World Economic Situation and Prospects 2026<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slower growth is expected in Russia (1 and 1.5 percent, respectively) and Latvia (1.7 and 2.1 percent). Estonia is projected to grow by 2.1 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outlook for other countries: Ukraine (2.3 percent and 3 percent), Moldova (2.5 percent and 2.9 percent), Azerbaijan (2.7 percent and 2.6 percent), Lithuania (3.2 percent and 2.5 percent), Kazakhstan (4.6 percent and 4.8 percent), Armenia (4.8 percent each year), Georgia (5.4 percent and 5 percent) and Kyrgyzstan (5.9 percent and 6.1 percent).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UN experts expect inflation in Belarus to drop from 5.1 percent in 2026 to 4.1 percent in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian government reported economic growth of 1.3 percent in January \u2013 November 2025 with inflation at 6.5 percent. It projects growth of 2.8 percent in 2026, with inflation of no more than 7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Economic Situation and Prospects 2026<\/em> is a report produced by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in partnership with the UN Conference on Trade and Development and the five UN regional commissions. The UN World Tourism Organization also contributed to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
