February 2, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Russia has de facto annexed Belarus and is likely using it for airspace incursions into Poland and Lithuania to prepare for a possible NATO-Russia war in the future, says<\/a> a recent analysis by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analysts cited recent reports by the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command of balloon and drone overflights from Belarus, noting that incursions by \u201cballoon-like objects” could have been used for reconnaissance and to test the response of the Polish air defense system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk \u201cappears to be increasing the quantity and frequency of Belarusian balloon incursions into Polish and Lithuanian airspace,\u201d the report warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia has been using the Union State framework for its decades-long strategic effort to de facto annex Belarus, the ISW said earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
