February 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Belarusian army\u2019s 19th and 11th brigades have called up 400 reserve officers for training during an ongoing exercise, Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin said on February 13, according to Pul Pervogo<\/em>, a Telegram channel associated with Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reporting to the Belarusian leader during an inspection of troops at the 227th Combined Arms Training Ground near Barysa\u016d in the Minsk region, Chrenin said that several issues had been identified during inspections of the two brigades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that all reserve officers had reported for field training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Chrenin and Alaksandar Valfovi\u010d, state secretary of the Security Council, answered positively when \u0141uka\u0161enka asked whether the Belarusian army was ready for war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense ministry launched a series of surprise inspections and exercises on January 26, 10 days after \u0141uka\u0161enka began his own inspections, bypassing the defense minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The army has conducted drills involving the state-of-the-art Polonez-M multiple rocket launch system and Iskander-M missile systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry did not disclose the exact locations of the drills. Rus\u0142an \u010cecha\u016d, head of the Belarusian missile forces and artillery, said the exercise involved several units moving over long distances, including up to 300 kilometers to reach designated areas. He reported \u201cno equipment failures\u201d during the drill, despite launches carried out at night and in difficult weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
